China and Tonga Civil Aviation System Construction Overseas Seminar 2018

29th June, 2018 TONGAN The 5-day training by the Civil Aviation of China and Tonga “2018 Tonga Civil Aviation System Construction Overseas Seminar” ended on Friday the 1st of June.

The training was opened on the 28th of May, 2018 at the House of Tonga by His Excellency Wang Baodong, the People’s Republic of China’s Ambassador to Tonga with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Tourism, Hon. Semisi Kioa Lafu Sika.

In the Ambassador’s opening remarks at the opening ceremony he stated, ”as a China-aid training program, it is one of the foreign assistance projects for the Chinese Government, which we hope to cultivate professionals and strengthen capacity building for Tonga. I sincerely hope that our two sides can fully take responsibility, learn from each other, strengthen mutual understanding and enhance our friendship, to further deepen China-Tonga civil aviation co-operation, promote bilateral relationship of the two countries and benefit the two peoples.”

More than 20 participants took part in this training most of them from key stakeholders like Tonga Airports Limited (TAL), Real Tongan Airlines, Palu Aviation, ATS and the Ministry of Finance and National Planning.

At the end of the training there was a gift presentation by the Acting Director for Civil Aviation in appreciation for the 5-day training held to upskill and upgrade the capability of Civil Aviation in Tonga.
