South Pacific Tropical Cyclone Advice #3 Tonga

ADVICE SUMMARY:

Severe Tropical Cyclone (TC) “Harold” (Category 3) was located near latitude 14.7 South and Longitude 165.1 East, or about 165 km of Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu at about 01:00am local time this morning. The cyclone has average winds of 85-90knots (157- 166km/hr) near its center and is moving Southeast at a speed of 6 knots (11km/hr). Severe TC Harold is expected to further intensify into a Category 4 System in the next 6 to 12 hours. On its current forecast track, TC Harold it is NOT expected to affect Tonga in the next 72hours (next 3 days) but may pose a threat to Tonga between Wednesday to Friday this next week (8^th to 10^th April 2020).
