Public Announcement: COVID-19 and TC Harold Relief Package for the Communication Sector

16th June, 2020 TONGAN Government continues to offer relief support towards businesses affected by COVID-19 and Tropical Cyclone Harold, including the Communications Sector this time.

These businesses are the network operators, broadcasters, and Very High Frequency (VHF) and High Frequency (HF) radio operators, marine and land mobile radiocommunication licensees.

Relief Package are as follows;

1. Network Operators/Internet Service Providers: – waive of licence and spectrum fees for April, May & June 2020.
2. Broadcasters: – waive of license and spectrum fees for April, May & June, 2020.
3. HF & VHF Radiocommunication Operators: – waive of licence fees commencing from April 2020 to March 2021, and majority of these licensees are individual fishing vessels where their livelihood solely depends on Fishing.
