ADVICE SUMMARY:
Tropical Cyclone (TC) “Ruby (Category 1) was located near latitude 14.3 south and longitude 157.3 east or about 420km southwest of Honiara, Solomon Islands, or 3090km west northwest of Nukuálofa at 4:00pm 12th of December, 2021. The cyclone has average winds of 35 knots (65km/hr) near its center and it is moving South at 10knots (19km/hr). On its current forecast track, TC Ruby is not likely to affect Tonga at this stage.
