14th December 2016 From September 11 to December 10, 2016, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has conducted meteorological training Mr Siale Tahaafe from Tonga Meteorological Services.
The purpose Reinforcement of Meteorological Services course, is to equip participants from selected developing countries globally with basic knowledge and key techniques in meteorology to assist them in supporting their respective National Meteorological Services.
During the 3 months training at the Japan Meteorology Agency (JMA) Mr. Siale Tahaafe has acquired knowledge and skill in numerical weather prediction, satellite meteorology and climate information for advance meteorological services. It is expected that Mr Tahaafe will better support the Forecasting Centre using he newly acquired skill set and share his knowledge with his colleagues on the operations desk.
The study course was fully funded by JICA.
