ADVICE SUMMARY:
Tropical Cyclone (TC) “Ruby” (Category 2) was located near latitude 18.1 south and longitude 160.9 east or about 740km northwest of Noumea, New Caledonia, or 2530km west of Nukuálofa at 7:00pm 13th of December, 2021. The cyclone has average winds of 60knots (120 km/hr) near its center and it is moving east southeast at 13knots (26km/hr). On its current forecast track, TC Ruby is not likely to affect Tonga at this stage.
